Darnley Cottage,

Pencelli, near Brecon.

 

 

Darnley Cottage is a 150 year old oak-beamed character cottage in the canalside village of Pencelli, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

 

The accommodation sleeps 4, in two bedrooms.    The master bedroom has a lovely double brass bed and a featured fireplace, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds.

 

The bathroom has a bath, hand basin, toilet and separate electric shower.  

 

Please note that this is an old cottage and the stairs up to the bedrooms and bathroom are therefore quite steep.

 

A fully-equipped kitchen, with adjoining breakfast and utility rooms,  provides everything needed for self-catering - electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer etc.  The breakfast room has another dining table and chairs, with a glazed sliding door to the patio outside.

 

The oak-beamed lounge/dining room is  very comfortable and nicely furnished with green leather sofa and chairs, a Welsh dresser, dining table and chairs.  

 

The property has full oil-fired central heating and a log burner in the lounge.

 

Freesat television provides a wide range of viewing options, together with a DVD player and iPod dock and a separate CD player.

 

Bed linen and towels are provided, light and heating are inclusive and there is off-street parking for one or two cars.

 

With a private, secure garden, the cottage is suitable for families and well-behaved dogs are most welcome.

 

The property is non-smoking.

 

Outside, there is secure storage for cycles, available on request.

 

The village pub, the Royal Oak, is within easy walking distance of the cottage and there are many other great places to eat in the area.

 

A local shop and Post Office is available in Talybont-on-Usk (2 miles), whilst the main shops and facilities are in Brecon town (4 miles).

 

With the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal running through the village, Pencelli is a charming and convenient location for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park.
